Everything You Need to Know About Anaerobic Incubator And X-Ray Viewer

A laboratory has much equipment that are complex but important. It is essential to have basic knowledge about commonly used tools if you are in any way related to labs and the industry that surrounds laboratories. Here we are discussing two lab equipment that needs to be handled with care. Both have an entirely different niche but essential. We’ll be explaining the basic working of the two devices; one is concerned with the bones and the other deals with the organisms invisible to the naked eye.

Understanding anaerobic incubator

Meaning of anaerobic is ‘living’, and the incubator is used to grow cell cultures and microbiological cultures. So as the name suggests anaerobic incubator is used in the clinical laboratory to isolate anaerobes from clinical material. It is compared with the standard jar system for the isolation. It is used to study the microbial life present in the environment with very less or no Oxygen.

When using an anaerobic incubator, it is vital to rejuvenating the catalyst. It should be replaced at least once a week, and if the chamber is busy then rejuvenate the catalyst more often. Always exchange the older one with the new for having a fresh catalyst all the time. The temperature has to be maintained during the changing of the catalyst.
Leaks may occur around the work areas. It is crucial for the incubator to have a required amount of pre-mixed gases even when you are detecting leaks. Even the slightest leaks can be identified by a towel saturated with isopropyl alcohol. The towel should be placed inside for a few minutes. Gloves and cuffs, along with chamber sleeves, under work pad, around airlock seals, and all corners need to be checked first for the leaks.

Understanding X-ray viewer

X-ray viewers are basically viewing boxes with the translucent surface. The translucent surface covered light lamps which are visible. These boxes are used to observe medical radiographs. There are different types of X-ray viewers available that an X-ray viewer supplier can efficiently deliver. Some include a photo-sensor to detect the intensity of the light while others have LED warning indicator which indicates the replacement requirement of the light lamps.

The X-ray viewer can be made of metal or plastic, and ideally X-ray viewer supplier should have both in stock. It depends on the preferences of the buyer to choose. The viewers usually have a roller clip to hold the X-ray film. They are available in three kinds depending on the placement; desk, wall, and a-dec model.
